Juneteenth Black Heritage Concert: Gospel and Blues – The Roots of It All

$25 – $50To honor Juneteenth, a nationally recognized day marking the liberation of enslaved African Americans, The Indiana Landmarks Black Heritage Preservation Program proudly presents a unique concert showcasing the profound connection between gospel and blues music and their significance in Black Faith, Hope, and Resilience.
Gospel performers include Ethel McCane, narrator, and musicians Kelly Jo Nibbs, Pastor William Brown, Damon McCane, Henry Carter, Joyce Carter, and Richard Harvey. Blues performers include Kyle Long, narrator, and musicians Scrapper & Skelton, Kenny Dodson, Debbie Nelson, and Tad Robinson. Music Box with Lester Johnson and Ezra Bufford serves as the concert’s featured band.
Experience “Juneteenth: The Legacy of Opal Lee” as we introduce Opal Lee, affectionately known as the grandmother of Juneteenth. Join us as Opal Lee leads a reflective exploration of Juneteenth’s essence and underscores the significance of living with purpose.
